Ann Tano was born and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, whereas a young girl she participated in numerous community projects. This set the stage for her life's journey.
Dr. Tano received a U.S. Air Force ROTC scholarship to earn a BS in Economics from Carnegie Mellon University. Upon graduation, Dr. Tano was stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base near Boston. Captain Tano led teams that delivered Tactical Data Link Systems worldwide. During this time, she also earned an MSBA from Boston University.
Her continued desire to serve the community led her to dentistry and a D.M.D from Tufts University. Dr. Tano is a general dentist that focuses on comprehensive care and works with patients to develop a plan unique to their dental goals and needs. She is proficient in a broad range of dental procedures, including crown, bridge, cosmetic, CEREC, and Invisalign. She is also certified to administer Botox through Tufts University School of Dental Medicine as well as the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
Now with the Smith Tano Dental Group, Dr. Tano strives to build and maintain long-term, compassionate patient relationships. In 2022, she was honored with the prestigious 10 Under Ten Award, recognizing her contributions and dedication to the field of dentistry. That same year, she also served as the Program Chair for the North Shore Dental Society, further demonstrating her commitment to professional leadership and growth.
Dr. Tano enjoys spending time with her family and husband, Wesley, hiking, biking, and Pilates.
